Nice game so far.
I suggest out of winner of each game, after determined, you can post the correct answer, and the list of members who got it correctly; if not won, at least we will be happy to know how good we made it.
Way to go!!!

At first I thought about posting the winner only but your idea seems fair for to members having right answer; will do when posting result on the game page.

I know the contest is already started, and rules are published and clear, but sometimes things can have a variation to improve it.

First of all, I'm participating just for fun, cause if I ever get a pass, I will not be able to use it (does not include air ticket, correct? :D); therefore, don't pool my correct answers, or if you do and I get choose, take one more name to replace me.

My suggestion, for this or for a future contest is to make only 9 games, picking a winner on each, but for the last pass give it to the one with the most correct answers in the games, or draw from all top scored if more than one.

Just my mind.

Unfortunately, air ticket is not included :8D Who knows maybe in the future we might be able to have an all included game and prize :P

For the current games: if a winning member is not able to attend or doesn't want his/her prize, we will give him/her the choice either to give the ticket to the person of his choice or to simply put it back for a draw with other members who gave the correct answer.

I also thought about your idea about pooling members with 9/9 correct answers and have a draw for the last ticket, but for this contest we went with a basic one game = one winner. But that's something that could be done for some future contest.

6th game, hard game!
Hi,
sorry for the delay 8~, flooding in my area caused network and power outages preventing me from connecting to post results earlier. No worries, all answers were still collected correctly as games were all set up to run automatically.

Results are online for the first 5 games and updated at top of this thread! :wiz:

In case several answers seem possible, any answer will be considered valid as long as the design of the coin in the submitted answer is identical to the picture above and that the related details are correct (type, time, ruler).

My coin design was same as whole https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces10145.html
The difference was the sunbeam. which in my coin was shorter.

Indeed, the sun design is different : the type shown on the picture doesn't appear before 1965 on the bolivian coins ;)
As mentioned by Cycnos, sun design was different for coins issued earlier (like 1937, 1939, etc.).

Unfortunately your reply didn't address the third component:

"c. the type of the coin (example, "Morgan Dollar" or "Franc Vreneli") OR the issuing time frame (example, "1954" or "1878-1883") OR the ruler of the issuer at the time the coin was issued."

Ah okay then, when I wrote "Bolivia, 5 Pesos Bolivianos." I've combined the 2nd and the 3rd component into one, since the Peso Boliviano was the currency used only during that specific time period, with there only being one 5 pesos bolivianos coin type. So my logic was "5 Pesos Bolivianos" fits the type criteria like "Morgan Dollar" does.
Well, my bad luck then ;/

Hope everything is good after flood.

Not in this case as "pesos bolivianos" is here the currency itself.
Example of type would be the 1st game "Morgan dollar": "Morgan" is referring here not to the currency or country but to the design itself i.e. the type Morgan (named after the engraver).

With all due respect to whoever is making these minigames, the image for 9th game was a terrible decision, in that it's got the same flaw as the 2nd; several dozens of possible answers with very little to tell the difference apart, other than subtleties in the design.

I don't really play to win, more so for fun, but those choices where you can hardly narrow it down to even a few options make it unfair possibly for anyone who is.

Been through all the options on this coin Cass, there is a subtle difference ( hope to be proved correct)

When are the results of the 7th and 8th game going to be updated? Just want to see if I got the correct answer or not lol. Only discovered the game after the 6th had closed, so missed the other rounds. Thanks :)
@lainmac

I absolutely don't doubt you're right, but I simply don't think it's sporting to have to microanalyse a few dozen possible contenders after you've figured the image out to get to the right coin. The previous few rounds were all good challenging ones (particularly #6!) that didn't have this issue.

Either way, most of these games have been fun and enjoyable, and I hope to see more community games in the future. <:D
game #6 frustrated the Bejeezus out of me, I went to Ukraine from the off then changed my mind ( needle in a haystack moment) I gave up!

Same !
I checked Armenia and Ukraine first but I couldn't find it, so I browse hundreds of pages from some micronations, islands and eastern countries in Europe before giving up.
When I saw the results I understood what I missed : I was only looking for the circulated ones... :°

The coin that is actually running on is indeed really vicious : except the coin on the picture, I'm not sure what other answers will be allowed.

8/9 (I wasn't abble to go on numista during the first game :snif: ).

What was vicious about the peruvian one was that many varieties exist with this kind of arms on the early coinage : https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces9096.html (for example)
So I'm not sure if this kind of lama and tree already exist at this period.

Anyway, the metal looks like cupronickel so I don't know what answers will be allow here.
I picked this one to secure my answer : https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2443.html
I didn't find the game until round 7 unfortunately, so I can only hope of getting 4 out of 4 :D

Edit: @cycnos....snap ;)
In my opinion this is the one : https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2443.html
i can have max 9/10 as didnt saw one detail in the 2nd game.
Good luck everyone !

This has been an awesome game and I even learned a few things along the way. I'd love to see more of these type of games that just make you want to log in. My only issue with it was that I missed a few games as i could not clearly find the links to the new games. i think out of ten games I managed to be in five of them, but that was only problem I found.

Well done to the creator of this game. Had an awesome time, and thank you for the fun.

Great games, only complaint is the ambigueity of some of the photos; hough at least I see similar guesses were accepted. (other than in Round 2, where a subtle difference cost me that chance).

I think we should have more community games/events, to win smaller prizes (or even just for fun) more regularly.
