Hello chrismck,

thanks for your answer. I guess you are right. Does the coin has any value?

Thanks and best regards

Well -- it's rare. Out of ~500 Trajan Denarii for sale on ebay right now, not one of them has the Liberty head. The condition is pretty bad though. I imagine you could get $50 for it from someone who collects Roman types.

Thanks for your evaluation. This is a great help for me. Do you have any hint about the other 3 coins?
Ancient coins are tough to ID, it can take a lot of scrolling and searching different websites.

I did a quick search on numista for your Greek coin (Country = Greece, Ancient, Design = "Zeus", weight = 6.28) and found one that looks pretty close:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces149934.html

Maybe with that you can narrow it down to Aigeai and search for it on Wildwinds. Here's the Aigeai page:

http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/greece/cilicia/aigeai/t.html

Unfortunately there are only 2 coins with Zeus on this page, so you may have to dive into some other cities and searches.

I'll take a quick look at the other romans, but I think there's not enough in the photos for me to go on.

Chris
I can't really see enough of your other coins to do a search without spending 2 hours at it, so here are two more websites for you:

https://www.all-your-coins.com/en/blog/antique/romaines/comment-identifier-les-monnaies-romaines

That one gives you a good general descriptions of the kinds of things you see on roman coins and what they're called.

This one lets you search by small bits of text, so if you can only read 3 letters in a row on a roman coin, you can type it in and see various possibilities.

Good luck searching!
The 2nd one looks like an coin minted under the rule of Emperor Licinius.
There is nothing left of the mintmark on your coin but this should be the type:

Hello alfonz,

thanks for your reply. In my opinion the coin looks pretty similar. But I guess its not the same. The nose and the chin look a bit different. But Emperor Licinus is a good hint to di further research.

Best regards
