Hello Numistas!

About this coin:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1190.html

I know there are large amount of french users on the site, so I guess the french coins are the most precise in terms of values.

How is possible the following coin have a so high value (1948 B 3% of users) if the higher and lower values are removed from the statistics?

And the coin can be found for a few bucks online.

Is this normal?

Hello,
I believe this coin is actually quite valuable. The value indicated by Numista is 72.50 EUR in grade VF (I guess your value is in BRL). This is based on the following values indicated by users: 10€, 25€, 35€, 45€, 50€, 65€, 80€, 80€, 80€, 90€, 90€ and 90€. Members owning the same coin in grade F paid it 38€ and 55€ and a user paid 100 USD (89€) for a grade XF.
A good source for French coins is Le Franc, which online version values the coin at 90 EUR (source), so slightly above the value of Numista.

Are you sure it's the 1948 B with open 9 you have found online, and not the one without B? Is it even dated 1948?

You are right, I searched for the year, not the character "B".

So it is right, a friend just found one in a cheap lot and I was very unbelieving, thank you all for the feedback
