50 Centavos Nicaragua

6 αναρτήσεις
Hello,
I have 2 coins from Nicaragua 50 Centavos year 2007 both are magnetic
in catalog are two types
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5626.html
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces25720.html

firts is year 1997 Metal Nickel clad Steel - - magnetic
second years 2007-2014 Metal Copper-nickel - - non magnetic

so something is wrong or?
Good question!
The second coin is not (yet) in Krause edition 2019, nor in edition 2017, 2015, 2013 and 2010. So I wonder where the information comes from this is a copper-nickel coin? And secondly, when the coin isn't in Krause how can it have a KM# number assigned to it?
Schön says there is no difference in metal content between these coins (which explains why they are both magnetic). The only difference between these coins is the Mint who struck them (according to Schön of course).
On bank of Nicaragua website, they only mention "nickel plated steel"

Might be a hint? :~
Just call me Bram

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!
Schön has the 1997 as 87.1 and the 2007 as 87.2. They are listed as having the same metal but from different mints ([F] versus Mexico City).
