Hey there,

Be sure to include weight/diamater next time (Makes it easier to search + helps you find it yourself in the future)

The year 1255 is from the Islamic calandar, which is roughly around 1839 in the gregorian calandar (May include later years too, i'm not entirely sure).

The symbol on the obverse is called a 'Tughra' (After searching and seeing coins that match it).

You should be able to find it from this search result:

Thank you for the replies. The tughra was a good hint. I have now identified coin 2 - coin in the right. Coin 1 is still unclear. Coin 1 edges are surrounded by leaves which makes it difficult to find it. Are they variants of

Also the diameter for coin 1 is 20 mm. My weight scale is broken at the moment, but approx weight would be between 1-1.75 grams
coin 1 -Turkey AH 1255(1) 20 para KM-653-20.5 mm diameter ,1.55 grams
Back from @LUPO's post, seems to be the right coin (Here's a corrected link tho).

From that wiki link, I used the KM reference number in Numista's search and found the coin here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces24469.html
Turns out there's alternate spellings for 'tughra' lol.

Imo the coins look too different tho. Sometimes patterns vary from the tools they used back then, but it looks too off to me. Could be a counterfeit - Since it should be made of silver.

The leaf pattern looks really finely done in your one, but it doesn't have the diamond 'dots' on the reverse.

Not entirely sure, hopefully others can add their opinions - or offer up a more accurate coin to match it.

Thank you and appreciate your replies. This helped me identify and understand the coin better
