1st coin: 1897B British Trade Dollar
2nd coin: 1844 UK Model Penny
3rd coin: State of Honduras, Provisional 8 Reales 1858
4th coin: Iran 1971 25 Rial
5th coin: Chile 1877 Peso
6th coin: U.S. Colombian Expo, 1892 Half Dollar
Special landmark for me today. I reached 100 unique German States Thalers. As well as 11 Double Thalers, and 4 silver ducats/2 ducats. That and my 36 Scandinavian thalers and my odd ones from other places and fractional thalers is pushing my main collection up towards 300 coins. (Not including my animal collection)
186 Thalers of some sort
38 GB Halfcrowns
12 Ship/Map medals
31 ZAR/South African coins
24 Weimar Republic coins
This one is really bad, but it'll do as a filler as it was cheap.

Απόσπασμα: "sc.rednek"Nothing particularly special this week, but I was interested in this one because it's the less common type 1 reverse.
Could you point out the difference in the reverse please? This is mine, and the only difference I see is a slight positional change of the mintmark
For a barber it is in good condition.
Do you Know if its been polished?
'We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.'
Sir Winston Churchill
The most noticeable difference is the position of the left wingtip. In the type 1 it covers part of the base of the "T" but only about half of the "E". On the type 2 the "T" is fully exposed but the "E" is almost entirely covered. I think the mintmark location is a difference in year, I've seen pictures of 1892-O type 2 and it has a centered mintmark.
When they first released the barber quarters in 1892 it was immediately discovered that they didn't stack properly in rolls. It's a pretty minor change, but apparently was sufficient.
There's also a type 3 reverse that happened part way through 1900, the wingtips extend farther past the letters.

Nice info that, thanks! I see it on the right side too now. Must have been blind before!
3 very common coins but still new for my royal portrait collection.
5 Franc Grand Duchess Charlotte
10 Sen Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah (1st portrait)
20 Sen Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah (2nd portrait)
I was looking for something else and found a good deal on this, couldn't pass it up. The PCGS website estimates that only 200 exist in all grades. The numista catalog shows no-stars half dime as 82 on rarity, but that also includes the 1837-P with a mintage of 20x that of the 1838-O
My.mother mailed me some coins the she found:
France, 2 francs, 1945
Germany, 10 pfennig, 1950
Ireland, 5 cents, 2002
Mexico, 1 centavo, 1958
United States, 1 cent, 1937
I already had these in my collection, but grateful to have them anyway.
Απόσπασμα: "CassTaylor"Just won on Ebay this nice Slovakian 1944 50 Korun commemorative silver coin, a steal at only 4,50€!
(Seller's photos, not mine)
NGC Price guide puts it at USD $ 22,50 for XF40; not sure how reliable that figure is but I'm assuming I got a bargain.
Finally received this in the mail... which makes for my collection....

Grats.
I am closing in on 3000 different types (currently 2966), though these numbers are somewhat misleading, seeing how some types are split up by subtypes and some aren't.
Additions this month:
Brazil - 2000 Reis 1851
Chad - 100 Francs 1980 (new issuer, bringing the count to 265)
Czechoslovakia - 25 Haleru 1933
Finland - 50 Pennia 1942
Germany - 10 Rentenpfennig 1924-A; 20 Pfennig 1888-A; 1/2 Mark 1906-D
Mozambique - 20 Centavos 1941
Panama - 10 Centesimos 1904
Poland - 20 Groszy 1923
Southern Rhodesia - 1 Crown 1953
Soviet Union - 5 Kopek 1930
UK - 1 Shilling 1910, 1945; 1 Florin 1918
US - Half Dollar 1943(P) walking liberty, 1952(P) Washington Carver
The 1943 half dollar is $40 for UNC in the SCWC, which seems rather over-inflated. USA Coin Book lists it at $30 and Red Book at $20. What I actually paid for it is $13.50.
