Just an inquiry; are we supposed to be adding sets listed in catalogues (i.e. krause) to the catalogue on Numista? I think this is generally a redundant idea personally.
I believe there is a genuine desire by members for sets to be included since many people do collect them. It would also elevate Numista above other sites that do not include them. There have been a few sets added to the catalogue, partly to publicise the fact that the format does not fully support their addition but that practice has now been outlawed by the admin team and we have been advised that any sets currently showing will be taken down. However, we are hopeful that the catalogue will be modified to accept sets and there are several members who are ready to contribute if and when that happens, but we are not holding our breath ...
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
I agree with Zac, the sets are needed here but i dont imagine to have them together with coins. The good idea in my opinion to create two country list , one for coins and 2nd for sets. The users could switch between tabs ie. Coins/Sets

I think the way we worked it in the New Zealand catalogue worked quite well, we have a separate section for the sets and have a line for you to enter the whole set at once, with links to all the coins that were contained in the sets in the comments field so you can enter the coins separately if you want.
I think it's a ridiculous idea to remove them all from the catalogue before the new sets section is ready and I think they should be left there. They're not doing any harm sitting in the catalogue and they have helped several members who swap whole sets in exchanges.

Wow that's great really, how we can get like that for all countries?
I like the way how New Zealand solve it. They looks good at swaplist .Fantastic work Neil!
If there will be new section for sets i also dont see sense for moving them. Leave them as they are for now.
I don't say sets should be in our catalogue, but I don't say they shouldn't be either, it's like Neil says: they're not doing any harm sitting in the catalogue.
But if they should be in our catalogue, it should be the way it's done for New Zealand and certainly not like the examples for Ajman and Liban. For instance the example of the 2010 booklet of Liban. This booklet exists of 10 different coins. For each of these 10 coins there is an extra year line for the same booklet, so this booklet is 10 times in our catalogue. How chaotic is that?
Yeah, I like how it is done for NZ. The next step could be to add another option under "Coin Type", next to "including euro" probably, something like "including sets" and set the type of these entries accordingly.

Well, just like there are lines for BU, coin card, etc.
The lines represent the way/quality these coins were issued by the mint/central bank.
If a coin was issued as part of several sets, then in my opinion they should be included. when you tick that line, it means you own this coin + it specifies the form you own as well. Specially when pictures are present to help identify the type of set you have.
For example, here in UAE, original sets of pre-UAE coins are highly sought after. I've heard of some people paying few thousands for just an empty set by itself!
It seems it doesn't matter that people like the way we've done sets, the word has come down from management that they're "cleaning up the calalogue", and even though the NZ sets are already listed in a separate section from the individual coins, apparently the are still to be removed.
I feel sorry for muzz0000 who was the member who put so much hard work into creating all the sets we currently have in the catalogue. I just tidied them up and approved them.
