Oh how I like my zinc coins – there is 47 post on Numista alone talking about them.
Well first off I believe the coins had been cleaned at sometime to remove the nemesis of the White Rust (I see some pitting where the white rust has done damage). The coins are still a fairly light color indicating the coins were pulled out of circulation early (most are dark or even black – called toning).
I would suggest coat with gun oil or WD 40, let dry and put in a coin holder.
Grade I would say EF+ AU
Value -Well many were made and used – zinc is not the best metal for coins – how many will survive and be in decent condition. I am banking the value will rise with time as collectors relies there is not many decent ones left.
Those who believe they can do something and those who believe they can't are both right.

Thank you for a detailed answer, I'm glad I asked. I had assumed that the pitting was due to rusted dies like coins of other metals. But I can see that cleaning zinc coins would result in pitting.
Thanks again!
