Hi,

a friend has found a new type with an incused shield, so now we have 4 types!

I've made change requests for BOTH 1992 links, but why is there 2 links,
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3304.html
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces11193.html
since they only differ AFTER the point? KM#1.x. Strange

Awesome!
Download a catalog "Standard Coins of Ukraine" by Igor Kolomiets - there you will find many different variants of all the denominations of 1992-1996. Not only 4, but many more.

The catalog is available for free download from the author´s forum: http://coinsitk.com/showthread.php?t=39019
Hi Ciscoins,

I have downloaded the catalog and yes, there are variants in Ukraine. It's just a shame all is in Russian and that one cannot copy the text into a translator. So the understanding has to come from images!

Anyway, thanks a lot for the link.

On the Ukraine 5 kopiyok 1992 you have bold and fine dates
bold fine

The bold is more flat were the fine is not flat
It is, what it is, or is it.

Daryl: Do ya think the flatness on the first date might be from wear? That's what I am thinking. Ed

Of course not. The difference in the size of the images, the form of the top of the left leaf (not present on the photo) helps to attribute these varieties from the distance of outstretched arm.

I started to add some most impressive differences such as double dating etc., but the referee did not approve them a few years ago, so maybe your attempts will succeeded.

I think it is more of a die wearing out ,than a different type . Or over cleaned
bold

I think this one the die is done. The middle A you can see a big different to

fine

Even in the shield the lines look bigger, but it is because they are flat not rounded. In the bold
sorry Ole should have made my own post. But the odd thing is I have two of the bold ones
It is, what it is, or is it.
We are all thankful to Agatha for his kind permission to continue discussion about 5 kopecks coins in his 10 kopecks theme.

Yes, as I can see the bold coin may be attributed as variety I1 according to Kolomiec.

Yes, as I can see the fine coin may be attributed as variety I1 according to Kolomiec.

And looks like you are right, in this particular case these differences does not produce new variety.

Well just sent Ole a set of the 5 kopecks. I had two of them. I will let the master decide this one. Iam sorry for not making my own post. I was very sleepy when I put up.
