Right so I have had this coin for 7 years or so and just found out it is super rare, it is a 1916 10 pfennig coin, made of iron(confirmed as it is magnetic) no mint mark and with the beading, we found it on a site called coinquest.com which said it is worth quite a bit.. what do I do with ti now? I did email a few people but some I am waiting for replies others have offered to sell it for me and half for proceeds etc we would just like to sell it asap for as near to its value as possible... we don't have the spare money to authenticate it and can't seem to get hold of any coin dealers in out area (EXETER) please could someone help me :)
Thanks in advance
Roonie
I am sorry but seem to of broken some forum rules, not on purpose (should of read them first) just that I am finding it rather frustrating when I know nothing about this subject : /
this is the link we found it on and he says it has no mint mark... there is a mark which is present on the unminted one just not a definite one : / We would really like to sell this but........
ggrrr I can't get the bigger photo of it on here : /
Απόσπασμα: tony.cthe A still visible on the left side of the eagle...
Honestly, I don't see the A (Berlin). When it's missing the mintmark, it's worth quite an amount of money.
It's German Empire, KM#20.
When you enlarge to 150% ther is a "triangle " visible - not much imagination needed - where you wold expect the mintmark. But that's just my opinion...
I have one from the next year (1917 A) and took a picture of it.
I copied your large picture, and expanded my small one, and got the lower sections to about the same size. For the reason that I was not sure where the A was (or not) - and I do now think that yours DOES have the A when viewed against mine in one combined picture. See what you think ...
