Double date Chile 1 peso 1958

4 αναρτήσεις

Hi,

I can not find nothing about double dates on this coin. I would like to hear your opinion about it :)
I also noticed that NGC site shows the mintage of 29 900. But the price is the same as the years when millions were made. So I am assuming that Numista has the right mintage of 29 900 000, right? Here are the links:

More than a week ago I bought more than 2 kg of world coins in a local flea market for a good price. After many hours of looking at each one of them I found 25 centimes Luxemburg 1960 medal alignment, South Africa 1 rand 1993 alignment error of 90 degrees ( I think this one is common) and that Chile coin above. Since I'm a beginner I feel really excited about my catch, even if its not worth a lot. :) So please don't make jokes about it. :D

It's a very nice example of a doubled die. But it is an error and errors you find seldom in world catalogs (like Krause), unless some very well known ones like these: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/doubledies/1955ddo.html.
In more specialized country catalogs you have more chance to find these.

Concerning the mintage of the 1 peso 1958: read this topic: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic47292.html.

Congratulations with the Luxembourg 25 centimes 1960 medal alignment (Numista catalog says it's rare) and the South Africa 1 rand 1993 with the 90 degrees alignment error. You don't see that often either, I have only 1, a USA 1/2 dollar 1974D.
3 special coins in a 2 kg. lot, you were very lucky.
Thanks for your coment Essor Prof!
I still dont have any catalogs, just looking for info in the google ( numista have realy good coin data base ). But I'm looking for the German coin catalog since 1600 for a good price. My priority is german coins and low mintage / error coins. I still have not decided if collect world coins, it can be to much for a beginer..
How did you started your colection? Can other members share their stories?
You can share everything you want in the "free discussion" section of this forum.

I've got that Standard Catalog of German Coins, 1st edition. Here you can get for all different prices: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0873412729/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all
