Key dates / Rarities / Premium Coins

I have taken the rather drastic decision to severely restrict my coin collecting horizons. As I result I’m getting rid of an extensive collection of world coins. I addition to the premium coins listed below, almost my entire collection is for sale. Please refer to my swap list.

Exchanges are still possible but please understand that the coins which I need tend to have a significant value and don’t appear in too many swap lists. UK pre decimal, 3rd Reich and Rhodesia in it’s various incarnations. I have filled most of the common dates and lower denominations long ago. If you have early or high grade coins we can talk, otherwise anything apart from the above can be considered for sale.

I’ve had the good fortune to find many key dates, scarce coins and even a few genuine rarities over the years.  As the likelihood of finding something of similar value in exchange is pretty slim, these are for sale along with other items which don’t fit the Numista framework. Proof sets, mint sets etc. Watch this space.

Prices are based on K&M except where indicated. Grades are based on 50 years of coin collecting.

Postage at my cost and risk (tracking included, US only) for sales over $50. Postage at your cost, and your risk, otherwise.

Overseas mailing is possible (at your cost and your risk) to those countries with reliable mail. Be advised that the cost of mailing from the US is ridiculously high. It would probably not be cost effective for anything other than a substantial purchase.

If you don’t find what you are looking for here or your price range is somewhat more modest may I invite you to browse through the 4,000+ coins in my swap list, most of which are also for sale.

Payment by PayPal, cold hard cash or junk silver preferred.

NOTE: I really don’t care if your Uncle Beryl’s best friend knows a guy who bought a similar coin on eBay in 1995 for half the price. Nor do I care about your opinions of the grades or values. Go troll elsewhere. If however you are interested in buying a coin but disagree with either the price or the grade, or feel the coin is incorrectly attributed, make your case and make your offer. I will at least give it the courtesy of consideration. Simply wanting to score a few cheap coins which you can resell on eBay won’t cut it though. Don’t waste your breath and don’t take me for a fool. Thanks.

Happy browsing!

TOKENS & MEDALS
France Brothel Token c.a. 1920 VF $45

One of the few genuine examples of a token issued by a real brothel. The establishment at 32 Rue Blondel was well known during the early 1900's. Considered rare.

Great Britain Queen Consort Caroline 1820 VF $15

The marriage of King George IV to his cousin Caroline of Brunswick was filled with scandal. She was physically removed from the coronation in 1820. This medal was struck to embarrass the monarchy. Rarely found without a hole. For more information: http://www.historyhome.co.uk/people/caroline.htm

Good luck on this new enterprise Phil! I see you have so many coins for sale, and have time to make pictures of them all...I wonder why you won't open an Ebay Store with so many coins or open a website of yours? Sure you would have more buyers than listing just here on Numista.

This is just my opinion and advice. Anyway good luck, cool coins!

Thank you Lidian. Opening an eBay store or even building a website might get me more money but it implies maintenance, restocking, dealing with merchant accounts.... sounds like a job! No my friends, I've done my fair share and now I'm happily retired and intending to stay that way.

Once these coins are gone there will never be any more in this type of volume. Although I will always have a few extra coins for trade or sale, I intend to cut out 90% of my collection and concentrate on the remaining 10%.

Selling to my fellow Numista members is far preferable to eBay or a dedicated website. I have already sold a huge amount to many different people with no drama or people trying to cheat me. Many have been people I already know,  others have been people I know only by reputation and even more are relative strangers but all have turned out to be decent people.  You wouldn't find that on eBay and my peace of mind is much more valuable than a few extra dollars.

I regard photography as a necessary evil, but fortunately I have been getting into the habit of taking pictures of my higher value coins whenever I have spare time so it wasn't as time consuming as you may think.

Απόσπασμα: neilithicwhat do you charge for overseas shipping?
Hi Neil, I've been treating each case on it's own merits. While I'm not intending to make money from shipping costs I'm equally not wanting to spend $10 mailing $11 worth of coins. For small purchases it really make no sense but for more substantial purchases I've been meeting people halfway. Most are falling into the  Group 5 price range (page 46) which averages a little over $10. That's assuming the coins will be compact enough to fit into the definition of "envelope" otherwise it's going to be parcel post and much more expensive. If that's the case then I'll cover the extra. A deal is a deal.

Of course if someone wants tracking, insurance or any of that good stuff then the cost is on them.

Thanks, I'm really keen on the Prince Edward Island and the German East Africa ones but unfortunately I've just spent a whole lot on coins and don't have much spare at the moment.  If you've still got them in a few weeks I'll take them off your hands.

No worries mate. I'll reserve them for you. No rush. Let me know which of the two GEA coins you want, the PEI... you mean the ships & commerce 1835 token above, right? I have a few of the Queen Vic cents for sale too.

The above is assuming they haven"t been snagged yet. I've got a whole bunch of swaps that I haven't even had the chance to look at yet so I'm getting through them in the order received.

For anyone waiting for a reply, thanks for your patience. I'm slowly working my way through a quite long swap queue. Don't be alarmed if I haven't responded to you yet, the coins are reserved from the time you requested them even if I haven't yet caught up with you.

Thank you very much to everyone who has responded, even if just to say "good luck". I am very touched by the amount of trust which has been placed in me.

Hahaha!  :8D
wow xf condition it must be very valuable let me check the us hair price guide
Not very valuable, due to the high molting figures.

According to Miller's Anatomy of the Dog, they have up to 15,485 hairs per square inch, so for an American Bulldog, we're probably talking millions for that mintage.
