Thanks for the nice update Frenchlover and thanks for adding the section with countries nobody has a coin from. That list is longer then I thought and it will be very difficult to lower it down till 0 but you never know.
Απόσπασμα: frncsbrennanwell, I am almost to 150. It gets tougher after 200 I'd imagine.
Reaching 280 was quite easy for me, without needing to spend anything else other than mail fares. It gets a bit harder after that; but reaching 350 shouldn't be too hard either. After that it is where you need to save up for single coins.

Yup, it was similar to me, I was good at Geography, but then Numista proved me and amateur. But it was fun, each time I got a coin for a new country I always checked Wikipedia for history on that country, specially the extinct ones, and special interest on the short-lived ones; the likes of Biafra and such.

This is not only geography, mix it with history, and add a few politics (mainly for autonomous territories and separatist entities)

But I think he has the same problem I have. The "----MS" and "- AS" you see after these coins are not in the database. So that's his personal comment and that's why that country is also counted on his profile, just like in my case.
Had given up on Danish India because of how expensive the coins from there are, and how damaged and worn most are. But yesterday found a Canadian seller who has them quite cheap (nearly 20% of catalog prices) and in decent shape, so couldn't resist and spent $30 (with Registered shipping included) and got myself my first coin from there, and with that, all Indian sub-division are now filled in my collection.
Since all the current listed ones are clay tokens I might just wait for it to rain, go out and get some fresh clay to make my own. Not like I am counterfeiting currency

Said and done, found one 1 Shilling 1894 in F for only $11 with Registered mail shipping, there where some in VF and even XF for about $20 but the shipping was unregistered or too expensive to register (UK, Canada or US), and I don't mind an F because the date, value and most details are present for only $11 totals.

He has a nice selection of old coins, many at decent prices, he tags them some in French others in Spanish, so they remain out of eBay mainstream searches, which seems to leave them alone for most of the time.
Maybe you will find a cheap coin for a country you are missing, or an attractive coin for a country you already have but that is too pretty to let it go.

Now I know where you found Judea, Islamic caliphates, French india, etc...
Judea not, I got 4 on an auction, already swapped the excess 3. Islamic caliphates I got from a guy from Dubai (auction as well), but French India guilty as charged.
He has a lot of interesting ones, some of them tagged under the current country rather than how it was called back then, like some of the Hungarian ones. Just scroll through them and you will surely find something you are missing.

By the way, this is the seller from Dubai from whom I've gotten several Middle East and ancient nation coins, he has a wide selection and always sends Registered for only $4, and since he send from Dubai the envelopes are moved incredibly fast; I think they should reach anyone in Europe in 2 or 3 days:

I know the Norfolk island coin produced by australia, circulates alot on that island (and they received alot of the stock of this issue)
I only mention this as it would give me 5 easy to get steps towards the 300 club hehe

The other side of the coin is what makes the difference; the Seal, sadly. Otherwise some coins from Palau and Cook Islands would be legal tender in a lot of other countries because they depict a lot of things that aren't from there.

So what about the early french -English and Portugese etc colony coins that depicted queen or set reverse, for each of there colonies--I see no differance between these coins and the USA quarters----the important thing is that they depict the name of colony on one side- and are legal tender for those countries (along with other US quartrers of course)
The Cook island coins are only tourist tokens, and are only of value to a collector. the locals do not even want their circulating coin series as payment and prefer NZ,US or Aust funds for purchases

Welcome to the club; I am sure Frenchlover will add you to the 1st post once he sees you.
As for the countries you are missing, you will surely get a lot from swaps; I mostly have coins from Mexico for swap, so I can't help you there, but you have some pretty easy to swap countries missing, so you will increase your numbers through swapping. Or you can buy several on eBay for less than 10 dollars. It isn't as hard reaching 340-350 without having to spend much, after that it gets really expensive.
Micronesia is a particular case, as it doesn't have any coin officially and for some reason Admins can't remove it from the country list. I am sure there might be a pending coin request for it somewhere that never got validated and that is why it is still showing up. But don't worry, it doesn't have coins; only fantasy coinage (made by particulars in an effort to scam people who doesn't know they aren't even coins).

Απόσπασμα: ngdawaerdvilla: i have no idea how you havemanaged to collect 7 tannu tuvan coins. there is a lot ot 7 coins out now on ebay for "just" $2,500!!!!
Asked a Russian fella for local sales over there and he linked me with several sales for crappy-looking (not lower than F thou) Tannu Tuva coins in an average of 80$ at local auction sites (average 1/10th of what you would find at international eBay), so after saving for a long time I was finally able to confirm the purchases. International eBay has of course very few of them, most NGC certified which are no less than 800$ each, that is why I asked to someone near to the source. It usually happens that local coins are often cheaper near their origin, while once outside they tend to get the extra punch of "exotic coinage". Now I only need to wait for the snail-speed mail to deliver them, got them sent into 5 separate envelopes to reduce risk.
Similar of what I did with some ex-French coinage, Frenchlover here linked me to some eBay.fr sales of them, and the prices where again usually 1/10th of those in main eBay.com, I simply marked them as Watched and then switched to the normal eBay to conclude the purchase as doing so in French could get me in trouble in mid-translation of shipping or extra charges that I wouldn't understand. Thanks Frenchlover!
A great advantage of trusty Numista members that are willing to help you beyond the normal swaps.
I guess it is very similar to what happens with Mexican Revolutionary coins here.
you can get cheap mexican revolutionary coins over there? If so, I am interested.
Yes, there is usually a few common ones in the 10-20 dollar range for sale. Up to some around 200 for some of the uncommon ones but that can be seen for sale periodically. Since you are interested in cheap ones I won't mention the rare ones. If you are interested PM me and I'll send you some sale pages so that you can see them for yourself. I got one for Frenchlover some time ago.

Also, if you are from a country in where regular mail is quite safe, then you have access to coin purchases from the US, CAN and UK, which have pretty expensive Registered mail fees ($20 dollars or more), so if your mail is safe then you won't need to avoid sellers from there, as I usually do, unless the coins is $100 or more I won't spend $20 on registered mail, buying coins for $15 and paying $20 for shipping is simply stupid, but otherwise they'll pretty much be stolen or lost. So I avoid buying from those countries most of the time.
This is why I love sellers from countries like Dubai (UAE) or India. $4.5 for a Registered mail shipment which arrives all the way from there to Mexico in less than 10 days + the time it takes to reach me from Mexico City, which can be 4-21 days that is why my mail isn't pretty safe, because it is so slow it gives time to thieves to snatch envelopes easily.

Exactly. But mail in New Zealand is pretty safe, so you can buy from American sellers easily.
In a nice move during two auctions I managed to recover the Persianate States mark ✔ on my collection.
For only $10.51 for two different Ghaznavid Dynasty coins with registered shipping included. Two different auctions but from the same seller; was stalking both in case I lost the one that ended 10 minutes earlier, but won it for $3.75, and since it was quite cheap and I already would pay the shipping, I decided to bid on the second anyway, and boom, won it for nearly the same amount as the first

Uhhh that 55 Euro one is SO TEMPTING!!! With Free -Registered and Insured- shipping it compensates a bit.
Problem is I don't see it in Numista (not unusual, surely a missing coin from catalog here), but I want to be sure to be getting the real deal and not a coin from somewhere else.
The one from Frisia... I pass, too expensive for the grade (surely is what they are worth, but I prefer to leave it alone because surely when I die my grandchildren will see it and sure discard it as junk ).
Some French eBayers prefer to not use Paypal because of frauds... They prefer to use cheques.

Well, at least ALL where moved, that doesn't leave the 3 that where alone before, each one worth over $100. But the UAR name now appears on my Dashboard as an empty country, eventhou there are no coins for it, just like Micronesia.
But I can't be bothered right now; I am bidding on an Umm Al Qaiwain coin, wrongfully tagged as Saudi Arabia coin So no one has paid attention to the auction other than me, and just because I found it by accident. 9 hours left and maybe, just maybe I'll get myself one of those expensive coins for a fraction (1/60th) of the price, so far the initial bid of $5 has been made (by me).
I hope the seller doesn't chicken out before it ends.

It doesn't have Umm Al Qaiwain (Qiwain) anywhere except in the picture. Maybe the seller inherited or robbed it and he doesn't know a thing about it. He must saw the arabic lettering and could only think about Saudi Arabia.
I don't want to get hyped as the auction ends during the night here so I will be asleep and someone else might stumble on it and rob me of my lottery find.
Wrongfully tagged items are common on eBay; they often won't sell even when anyone could snatch them for less than 5% their real value; the problem being the wrong tagging which keeps away the many probably interested bidders who simply won't find the item as it doesn't show on their searches.
