Mongolia Counterfeit?

I was on a trip to Mongolia and acquired this (among other) coins.

It is identical except the weight, thickness, and material.

Mine is 8.4 grams, 2.3 mm thick, and magnetic (iron/steel), not as thick or heavy (and obviously not silver) as the link describes.

Could this be a counterfeit since the original is silver?  Or could there be another mintage not identified in the link?

Seems to be a rather rare coin as well...

Same story here.  5 Mongo, steel color, magnetic, 12.7 grams, 2.4mm thickness.

3rd verse same as the first.  1 Tugrik, steel color, magnetic, 13.5 grams, 2.3mm thick.
These are definitely fake. Early Mongolian issues are becoming increasingly hard to acquire, and no steel coins had existed at the time.
