Is this a mint error?

I was going through some of my half penny swaps and found this

If you look towards the date there is an E and what looks to be a I or V next to it.
Hopefully image is clear enough.

edit: maybe better picture
Yes - it is a mint error; it is called a brockage.
Yours has EN letters stamped in reverse, from the next coin.
Here it is mentioned (about a Spanish coin) ...

Thanks Zac,

It's my first error coin I'm aware of, should I keep it?
Is it worth more/less than a non-error equivalent?

backwards N?

Will read more about brockage

Haha I thought that Spanish coin was just a really badly pixelated image.
Yes - it is worth keeping. If you go to that link I gave, there is a link just below that on the same topic.
The letters HALF PENNY from the coin before yours in the machine got partially stamped EN on yours.
It is also worth more than the standard non-error coin; mints are supposed to check for these kind of errors and not put them into circulation. I will use your first image and reverse it to show what I mean.

I flipped your image, then copied the EN part, and rotated then pasted in near to where the PENNY is.  :wiz:

Ah I see why now, Thanks.
I'll keep it then, Gonna keep an extra eye out now for these types of errors.
