Ethiopian 50 santeem

Hi!

How can you tell the difference between the two different Ethiopian 50 santeem from 1936 (1944)? One is .700 silver and one .800, otherwise they seem to be identical. Or are all of the .700's weakly struck like in the Numista picture?

Do the ice test. Put a piece of ice at one side of the coin, and your finger on the other. Whichever gets colder faster is the .800.

Well, I only have one and want to know which one of the two KM numbers it is. Sorry if the question was too vague.

Man, being so close in silver percentage, I imagine there would be very little difference in weight.  The mintage numbers are super close too.  If it were me, I'd close my eyes and point.  Whatever one I land on is the one it is.

Wait...
The .800 would have a ring when dropped closer to that of a common .900 silver coin, while the .700 would be less similar.

Glorkar, It's not so much about the silver value, it's just that I want to know what it is I have...

Zulu, that actually sounds like it might work. I'll try comparing the ring to a Swedish .800 coin when I find the time. Thanks!
