My nation does not use Euros, but I was wondering about nations that now do. Is it possible to occasionally find a pre-euro coin or two that snuck back into circulation? How common is it? I figure it is quite rare, but I was just wondering.

Well in The Netherlands it's not that difficult to find older non-euro 5 cent pieces in 5 euro cent coin rolls. They have pretty much the same size as a 5 euro cent.
I know that the 10 franc coin from France is commonly seen in circulation due to its similarity to a 1 euro coin. Found two myself.
Last but not least. The 500 Lire coin from Italy is commonly seen circulating as a two euro coin. Not to mention the older (pre-2009) 1 lire coin from Turkey.
It is known that some fraudsters will purposefully pay with these coins since most are worth much less than the face value of the euro coins they are trying to claim they have.
Another problem is simply people having them at home in drawers or from visiting a new country and unknowingly paying with them.

Never seen those in circulation. Could be possible, but there always a possibility of even the most distant coin showing up in circulation.

They were used in postal automatics machines, but the machines have been modified. Sometimes we can found these coins in our change. (Italian 500L too )
I never got pesetas anywhere else except Madrid... Perhaps I was cheated, but I remember this forum topic from a while back and ppl were saying that countries sometimes use pre-euro coins as small change.
I was in Sevilla (Your account says that), and I never got pesetas either... perhaps its only bigger cities or something.
