Those are the three different 20 pence errors I have.
1 Not seven-sided but round shape (same size)
2 Outer shape alright, but inner shape out of alignment with outer
3 The famous mule - new design on reverse (which used to have the date) and the Royal Mint forgot to put the date on the front; so no date anywhere - should have had 2008 on it.
I think 20 and 50 pence UK coins are better for showing rotation errors, with the inner 7-sided shape out of alignment with the outer 7-sided shape. Since the three above I have found one more in my change with a slight rotation, then today this arrived; shown on the left, with another 2005 I had for comparison ...
So that shows there is just one die for the obverse, as the design and the lettering are both rotated - the top of the crown is still between B and E letters.
Απόσπασμα: Diego KnyteHmm, looks more like a clipped planchet than a mis-strike. Nice error coin. I dig that stuff.
Yep it's a clipped planchet error alright. Normally I find clipped planchets a bit dull but Twenty and Fifty Pence clipped planchets are great because of the unusual shape of the coin.
