Casa Moneda Madrid

Hi All,

im in Madrid for the next couple days and want to visit the casa moneda and perhaps pick Up a collector coin souvenir. 
 

I see the timings as 10am-8pm… is that really true? Today I went around 2pm, but security Told me to come back at 3pm. 
 

I know there’s not much to expect from the exhibits themselves, so I’m keen at least to be there when the museum shop is open. Any tips would be great!

It was closed Wednesday morning for some reason. It should open as usual the rest of the week.

The exhibits used to be actually quite interesting, but they are partially closed now for renovations.

Anyway, if you could stay in Madrid until Sunday, I'd highly recommend you this market:

im leaving on saturday unfortunately, but I did attend the mark last Sunday in Barcelona which was great too. Had I been here on Sunday, I’d definitely come with some serious cash haha

Back in Toronto after a wonderful first visit to Spain. I travelled to Barcelona and Madrid. In between I made visits to Montserrat, Zaragoza, Girona, Segovia, Toledo and Aranjuez. 
 

while in Barcelona, I visited the Sunday Coin market at Plaça Reail. It was really nice with several tables and silver coins going at pretty much a modest premium over melt value. I’ve posted pics of the coins in the monthly addition to collection thread. Here I’ll post the pics I took from the coin Market

I also visited the Casa de la Moneda in Madrid. The exhibitions were very extensive and the coins on display were impressive and well presented! 
Had my Spanish language skills been anything but near non existent, I could have ended up spending the entire morning half of the day over there

Was there any interesting numismatic markets or shops in Girona? As I plan to visit that area later this year.

I’m not sure about Girona, i didnt look for any shops/markets over there since I was only doing a day trip. Besides, I had spent already quite a lot at the coin market in Barcelona, so I was pretty tapped out already lol
