18 inch bronze reproduction?

Hello to all!

I am wondering if you can help me…

My husband and I recently purchased a piece from a thrift store located in Portsmouth, Ohio, United States and I am trying to figure out it's history. 

It is 18 inches in diameter (about 46 cm), solid bronze, and the same image as this medal I am commenting on. (I will attach a picture of it leaning next to my fireplace) There are no mounting points or marks, and the F. Vernon signature does not appear anywhere on the piece. 

My husband and I seem to remember we have seen this medallion at an antique store or paddlers mall somewhere in Kentucky as well, but we cannot remember where. I was also able to locate a smaller version that someone had painted over being advertised hanging in a shop in Louisiana. 

Would anyone have any idea if it is of any significance,  or, if it is modern, who manufactured them and when?

Thank you for your reply. I have been searching for possible buildings or monuments. So far I have found nothing and haven't found an identical piece listed for sale.

 Maybe other members will know if - if it is modern, who manufactured them and when?

Mon mari et moi avons récemment acheté une pièce dans une brocante à Portsmouth, dans l'Ohio, aux États-Unis, et j'essaie d'en retracer l'histoire.

Elle mesure 46 cm (18 pouces) de diamètre, est en bronze massif et représente la même image que la médaille dont je parle. (Je joins une photo où elle est posée près de ma cheminée.) Il n'y a ni points de fixation ni marques, et la signature de F. Vernon n'apparaît nulle part.

Mon mari et moi avons l'impression d'avoir déjà vu cette médaille dans un magasin d'antiquités ou une boutique de loisirs nautiques du Kentucky, mais nous ne nous souvenons plus où. J'ai également trouvé une version plus petite, repeinte, qui était affichée dans une boutique en Louisiane.

Auriez-vous une idée de son importance, ou, si elle est moderne, qui l'a fabriquée et à quelle époque ?
