Hi there, I was wondering why the composition says Steel instead of nickel, so I'm just a bit confused.

Because somebody changed it from nickel to steel in the last few years for some reason and the change was validated by the referee for some reason.  Before that back to when the page was created at the beginning of Numista it was Nickel. Someone with access to the change history would need to look and see why.

This was listed as a source for that information: https://www.coinsunlimited.ca/royal-canadian-mint-coins-sets-singles/celebrate-canada/1992-1867-canadian-10-cent-bluenose-schooner-confederation-125th-anniv-dime-coin#:~:text=1992%20(1867%2D)%20Canadian%2010,the%20maritime%20skills%20of%20Canadians

That source (a sales site like ebay) shows weight as 1.75g which is also incorrect.  I guess they were going for Cu-Ni clad steel.

And this from the RC Mint:

Something's wrong here if this change was accepted without question.

I changed it back.
