Hey guys,
What is your most favorite monarch design? I'm sure a lot of you would argue that Victoria's "Gothic florin" portrait is the best, but I think that there are some even better ones.
One of my favorites is of Alfonso XIII's second portrait.

Queen Jadwiga, Queen Victoria, and 'Milda' from Latvia.
Perhaps that last one is not a queen (I thought it was), though it does say 'crowned head right'. The same design is used on a 2012 coin re-issued. Edward and George V imperial designs are the best but I also really like GVI and EII wearing the imperial crown too !

Too bad they didn't make an official coin with his portrait. All they made of Edward VIII were fantasies and coins without his portrait.

I think both portraits are offensive to Beatrix. My prospects for the portrait of our new King Willem-Alexander aren't very positve.

It's been a long time since the last post, but no one mentioned the Kaiser, especially on Germany's East African coins.

Man I can't stop marveling at that portrait. Unfortunately the coins are quite rare and very expensive, so no Wilhelm II for me
