During a recent sort out I come across this coin gifted to me as a child, I don’t have a clue about this sort of thing so was wondering a value as when searched on google the value’s seem to vary ridiculously. Thanks Everyone

BellJ - an answer to your questions regarding the three coins on your three posts, is that the value depends on the coin and the grade. For this 1996 coin you have the BU version in the blue case, this theoretical should be higher priced than the standard coin, of which there were over 5 million minted, but a case with damage and a BU coin with damage slumps the value down to the ordinary circulation coins, in my opinion.

As you can see, if your coin was in perfect condition it would be worth around $11, I think because I can see possible scratches on the coin (could be on the case) your could would now have a value of between the XF ($4.5) and Unc 60 ($6) range. However this is a catalogue value, and what people are willing to pay for a coin, why and where, varies dramatically. NGC is an American company, but is used around the world as a book price, some people swear by the figures others laugh at them.  Ultimately you can ask whatever you want for your coin, or place whatever value you wish upon it. If you want to sell it, the price someone will pay for it is ultimately how much it is worth. So if you search eBay for sold items of this coin you will get a good estimation of how much people are willing to pay, remember that the willingness to pay an amount depends on the condition - so just because one sold for say £10 it doesn’t mean that yours will sell for that, the one that sold could have been immaculate, with a brand new looking case.
