SIlver weight calculation

My collection incluses coins with silver composition ranging from .350 to .999  with most falling in the .900 to.925 range   Numista calculated that I have 7.35 kg of silver. But how is that determined. Is it reflecting the pure value of silver at .999?

Yes.  For each silver (or billon) coin the silver content (purity times weight) is used.  So for this coin N#45 the silver content is 1.75 grams (.350 X 5).  For this coin N#51 the silver content is 2.25 grams (.900 X 2.5).

Each coin page calculates the silver value based on current (or recent) silver price, like already stated above, then on your collection page your silver coins prices are added together, the weight of your silver coins (total weight of coins made of silver) not just the silver content, then the silver value from the page of the coins you have.

The price isn’t calculated from the weight on the collection page, but from the data on individual coins in your collection, as coins have different silver content.

I hope that is correct as I am assuming the simplest way of calculating the correct value of a collection.

These weights and values are only for pure silver/gold in your collection not the total weight of the silver/gold coins or the total value of the silver/gold coins.

As an example I created a collection with one of these: N#45 coin weight 5 grams. On My collection page it shows the weight of the silver in the coin and the melt value of the silver in the coin.

Well my assumption was half wrong and half right; either way the OP should be satisfied in the knowledge that the figures for the collection is pretty accurate. $5 dollars for a war nickel, shame no jeweller will buy .350 silver!
