Weight and size units in Germany 1854 [επιλυμένο]

Any idea what units are used in Hamburgische Münzen und Medaillen by Otto Christian Gaedechens

Trying to figure out how 4.75 L translates into ~ 35.43 metric grams and whether 1.73 Z are inches.

Coin in reference - N#177057

I think I can fix weight by putting it in correct field, but maybe author also tells size.

Z = Zoll = inch (2.36 - 3.33 cm depending on time and place)

L = Lot (14 - 18 g depending on time and place) so 66.5 - 85.5 g for a piedfort

Η κατάσταση άλλαξε σε Επιλυμένο. (tokul, 12 Νοέ 2025, 18:21)

So coin page is confusing 20 ducats variant with 10 ducats as that reference id talks only about 4.75 lot variant.

Not necessarily, the book excerpt also states that 'I came across single ones too. See depiction'.

As it says Portugaleser I am also not completely sure what is meant be double and single but double and single weight seems the most plausible to me. I don't know the Portuguese coin foot of that time (Nach portugisischem Schrot und Korn).
