1 Deutsche Mark 1982 – missing mintmark (possible mint error)

Description:

I own a 1 Deutsche Mark coin dated 1982, which has no mintmark next to the year.

The area is smooth and clean — it doesn’t look worn or damaged.

Normally, all 1 DM coins from 1982 should have a mintmark (A, D, F, G, or J).

I’d like to confirm whether this could be a rare mint error (missing mintmark) and how to estimate its collector value.

Specifications:

  • Denomination: 1 Deutsche Mark
  • Year: 1982
  • No mintmark visible
  • Weight: about 5.5 g
  • Diameter: 23.5 mm
  • Composition: CuNi (copper-nickel)

The pictures are not very clear, but I can easily read a “F” under the eagle…

Why do you think the mint mark should be next to the year?

Also, that circle on the reverse is not a mint error. It's caused by a coin roll machine.
