Hi all,
This request is about a possible discrepancy I noticed with the issuing date of the entries for the commemorative series released in Albania in 1969, consiting of the following Numista entries:
- 5 Qindarka (Liberation) - Albania – Numista
- 10 Qindarka (Liberation) - Albania – Numista
- 20 Qindarka (Liberation) - Albania – Numista
- 50 Qindarka (Liberation) - Albania – Numista
- 1 Lek (Liberation) - Albania – Numista
The 5, 20 and 50 Qindraka entries have only one issuing date of 1969.
The 10 Qindraka entry has two issuing dates, ? and 1969.
The 1 Lek entry has two issuing dates, (ND)1969 and 1969.
I understand that the ? and (ND) 1969 dates indicate that the issuing date is not specified on these coins, which is partly true, as the date is written in a time period format.
From what I have managed to find, there does not seem to be a reason for these two specific entries to have two issuing dates.
An example of a similar case is the Bicentenial Eisenhowe Dollar of 1975 and 1976 (1 Dollar "Eisenhower Dollar" (Bicentennial) - United States – Numista). Those coins have a similar date format with the Albanian ones, but the thickness of the letters on the reverse differentiates the two years of issue.
Should the 10 Qindraka and 1 Lek entries be edited so there is only the 1969 date?
Please correct me in case there is a historical reason I have missed for the two issuing dates.
