Keep: N#74720

Remove: N#476012

The only thing new in the page to be removed is that the edge is plain – I submitted a modification request to add that to the keep coin.

@escoins @silvergeek what do you think?

Here's the discussion of whether these coins should be under Erfurt or Mainz:

The pictured coin is Gräßler# 213 if you want to add the image to the Erfurt listing.

Yeah I will look into it. There is also another full duplicate from one of these places that @Trooper8 keeps on mentioning in his addition and edit requests and I keep on saying that he needs to send a request in here. I would be fine doing it myself if it were like the first time this happened but he needs to understand that since only admins can delete a full page that he needs to start sending deletion requests by himself in here (it would also become faster)

I posted duplicates in here back in the day when there was an own pinned page for these. Too bad some stayed there with nothing done. Now that each one needs its own forum entry, I refuse to spam this forum with this nonsense (because there are a LOT of them). Some are even a general problem between specific issuers that is known by most admins for years. But nothing happens.

So while I know normal referees can't fix duplicates, I at least give the info to the ones I believe care about it (which aren't all as well).

Ok understood I’d probably have already made a post about it to get it fixed just that I am literally in the process of moving across a continent

My suggestion would be to keep the coin under Mainz and delete it under Erfurt. At that time, Erfurt was only the place where coins were minted for the Archdiocese of Mainz due to the mint's capacity. Strictly speaking, N#74720 and N#476012 are not duplicates. Gräßler lists 20 variants (208 - 227) for this type and year. I would most likely assign N#476012 to No. 213. Unfortunately, there is no exact match for N#74720. The closest possible match is No. 216. But 216 has two dots after the W at the end of the inscription on the coat of arms side. I only see one for N#74720.

So, we could also publish both coins on one page as two variants of one type. My recommendation would be to host this page under Mainz.

Have you read the information from Gräßler I mentioned above? After I posted that @Compendium agreed that coins of this ilk should be under Erfurt.

If that decision is reversed many other coins should be moved from Erfurt to Mainz (and edited to clarify the references).
