Name of the currency
Numista use always the Spanish name “Libra”, but this currency was used in Catalonia (local name “lliura”), so I think could be used the translation (EN) Pound (FR) Livre
NOTE: The following is incorrect. Continue here https://en.numista.com/forum/topic161575.html#p1265200
Years of the currency
This currency was used during the period 1640-1652 of the Spanish notgeld. Some subunits had variable values, but in the years 1640-1652 their values remained constant:
1 Pacífico = 20 Sous (from 1476)
1 Groat = 24 Dineros (1501-1669)
1 Trentin = 33 Reales (from 1618)
The years with all these constant values are 1618-1669.
Subdivisions
The original subdivisions are:
1 Libra = 10 Reales = 20 Sous = 40 Seisenos = 120 Doblers/Ardites = 240 Dineros = 480 Obols/Senyals = 960 Pugesas • 1 Pacifico = 18 - 20 Sous • 1 Florin ≈ 13 Sous • 1 Groat = 12 - 36 Dineros • 1 Principado = 24 Sous • 1 Trentin = 33 Groats
The years are 1618-1669, so I will use:
1 Pacífico = 20 Sous
1 Groat = 24 Dineros = 1 Real
1 Trentin = 33 Reales
Result:
1 Pound = 1 Pacífico = 10 Groats/Reales = 20 Sous = 40 Seisenos = 120 Doblers/Ardites = 240 Dineros = 480 Obols/Senyals = 960 Pugesas • 1 Florin ≈ 13 Sous • 1 Principado = 24 Sous • 1 Trentin = 33 Groats
Notes:
- In notgeld there are not coins in Pacifico, Principado, or Florin. Should they removed from subdivisions?
- I keep the value 1 Florin ≈ 13 Sous, but I do not know if it is correct for the years 1618-1669.
