Counter-stamped? [επιλυμένο]

Howdy I bought this merchant token in a lot of other merchant tokens. And found this one. which I could mot find here on numista. Looking closer I noticed it has been counter, and the coin underneath I believe to be N. Brunswick 1 penny token. What are you opinions?

Your token is British and considered “non-local”. It's Withers 1610 (= Davis 105). The bird is a phoenix rising from the flames.

It is counterstruck, i.e. struck over a Samuel Guppy penny token. In the catalogue I could find only the halfpenny version, but in your case it was obviously a penny. You can still see enough of the legend: PAYABLE BY S. GUPPY …

In Withers, the Guppy tokens are nos. 505—513 = Davis 93—96 and 118.
