Notgeld x Necessity Coin

I was in a Coin Event last week and some people was talking about “what is the difference on Numista about Necessity Coins and Notgeld”

And I didn't know what to answer.

According to Numista, what is a notgeld?

There are 17 countries that have Notgeld as a separate issuer including Denmark (but only banknotes in the Numista catalog).  I think they're all under the Emergency coinage/banknotes object type. I don't believe a definition of Notgeld exist.

I always supposed that somewhen Numista had no categories for emergency money and notgeld issuers were used to add such coins and banknotes, but when emergency coinage/banknotes became a category no one took the job to move items from and delete these issuers
