I found a probable typo on the coin page: N#17723
The edge inscription is: VNITIS VIRIRVS
This looks sus to me. I don't have a specimen by I think that it should be ‘VIRIBVS VNITIS’, the personal motto of Franz Joseph.
Other, simlar coins also have similar text on their edges like these ones:
N#23664
N#14747
I also found some material about the motto and its translation:
https://www.aeiou.at/aeiou.encyclop.v/v555555.htm
https://www.latin-is-simple.com/en/vocabulary/phrase/2102/
It seems that the ‘U’ in in the text is written in a more archaic form, as ‘V’.
I opened a mod request and the referee partially accepted it but asked me to ask around the forum about this. Can anyone who have this coin can share a photo about the edge?
Thank you!
