Help identifying this coin

Hello! My friend has found this coin while doing a house clearance. He says it feels like silver. I've been looking for it online but can't seem to find one that fits just right. It might be a replica based on its good condition. Any ideas what it might be? I have tried to reverse search it and use identification apps but they app point me towards similar coins non of which are quite right. I appreciate any help given

The design is of a Portuguese coin, 16th- 17th century perhaps.  IN HOC SIGNO VINCES was a sort of national motto, and the coat of arms on the other side has the right form, even if it's hard to see the details.  

Depending on the size,  be something like this, as you say perhaps a replica.

As our friend Tdziemia said, it is apparently a Portuguese coin.

One detail to look at is the reverse, where it has the "Cross of the Order of Christ". Almost 95% of the coins of the time have a dotted circle around it.

In your case, it apparently does not have this detail. Just like this one:

If possible, try to take some measurements of its diameter and weight. It helps a lot to identify it.
