I was adding DNF numbers to the DWI and noticed this coins having two different reverse legends:

First line (1748)

KM#6.1 "DANSK AMERIC INSULER"

Where the rest have the legend of:

“DANSKE AMERICANSK M”

The coin in question:

N#29557

Variations should be listed on the same page, according to the catalog guidelines. In this case I'd be inclined to say it's more of a variety than something warranting separate pages.

Then I'll argue the line between type and variant becomes increasingly blurry.

Some coins from eg. Glückstadt are devided between bust types and legends.

For instance I find these very similar:

N#199856

N#199893

It doesn't seem like an error, on the DWI coin and the guidlines says:

“Legend varieties (different dates, mints, officinae, punctuation, layout, abbreviations, mint or engraver marks)”, which doesn't seem to be the case for my understanding.

The Numista definition of Type says:

Coin types are split on independent pages when they feature:

  • Different legends or countermarks

It seems reasonable to me to argue that exchanging “AMERIC” and “AMERICANSK” or “DANSKE” and “DANSK” is just a legend variation, but swapping “INSULER” for “M” seems to me to be in the “different legend” category and not just a variation.
