I was reading the General Guidelines.
“You can indicate information in the comments field of the page by directly specifying their source, but avoid inserting hypertext links external to Numista directly into the text.”
I am curious why external links to reputable sources are not allowed in the comment section. This was not always the case. When did these changes occur, and why? What is the logic behind it?
An external link is usually more efficient. Sometimes, a direct external link is preferred - why go digging when it is unnecessary?
I guess I can regurgitate everything that would be on the external link. Yes, let's clutter up the comment section.
Fix this issue if I can not have External Links:
I know you have the option “Register a past auction sale,” but if you do not have the sell price (Some websites hide this behind a Paywall), you cannot register the Auction sale. It would be nice if there were a check box “Price is behind Paywall” and let you complete the registered Auction Sale.
Clarification if External Links are not allowed in comments:
I could use the “Register an example of this type” and put the External Link in the comment. However, I am now wondering if that is allowed.
