I would suggest you rather make videos of polishing coins on Youtube like all those other dudes.

It doesn't really make sense on a numismatic website, this has little to nothing to do with restoration or even conservation.

Agreed. This is not the first time the OP has posted this subject here on Numista.

The Numismatic community generally agrees that the cleaning of coins is highly discouraged and I believe these types of posts are contrary to Numista's stated mission of educating beginners and experts alike.  I therefore kindly request the OP to voluntarily stop these types of posts as I believe they do not contribute anything of value to the community and in fact are harmful to the Numismatic community, especially beginners.

The owner of a coin can do what they wish with it.

You can tell someone that cleaning it will devalue their coin, it would be wrong to say that they can't do it, that is not up to you to decide, it is up to them.

Trying to drum up business I guess.

Yes, the owner is free to do whatever they want. Posting it publicly is another matter. He is also free to make the decision to voluntarily cease doing so publicly or we can ask the Moderators to make that assessment.

I have found that it is not so much what is being communicated but the motivation behind what is being communicated where truth resides.

Profiles disclose much of the truth as well.

Ok, dude. No problem. But at first, please show your knowledge in coin restoration and conservation😂😂

So far you're posted 8 times and all of them were you patting yourself on the back for being such a wonderful polisher of coins. You obviously need something from those you are trying to impress.  If not customers then what?

I am tired of babysitting children here so I left it in the hands of the moderators. This is not the place for show and tell. If this is the type of nonsense they want to tolerate, that is entirely up to them.

The thing is, I think everyone has a right to post whatever they want as long as it is on topic for the forum it is posted in and does not violate the forum policy.  My question is that after 8 posts of the exact same content with different coins, and no encouragement by other members to continue, what are they expecting to achieve with each new post?  Is it a matter of just trying to show off, to discuss different techniques  or something else?  Obviously the OP doesn't care what anybody thinks about the posts so what is the motive?  We'll probably never know as the OP will probably disappear as quickly as they started. My plan is to ignore any future ones.

Clearly many don't become new members to learn, discuss, share, or contribute to the hobby or the profession. I believe many come here to simply entertain themselves as if on social media where they are free to do whatever they like. Others to profit from the imagined treasures they find on Youtube as suggested by Idolenz in the first response to the OP.  The membership here has more than tripled since I first joined. Sadly, I see those numbers overwhelming the quality, integrity, and professionalism of the entire site. But apparently it their right to post and do whatever they like. I will take quality over quantity any day. To date, it only encourages me to disengage entirely.

I read, I don't comment, I don't encourage.

These photos show beginners and other people how to distinguish a cleaned coin from the original that was never touched. So that the beginners do not make mistakes. I don't understand what all this fuss is about really. Or maybe you have something to hide from others, why so much negativy lol

Why do you post the same answer three times? Did you drink from that cleaning fluid?

Self affirmation. Similar to liking you own comments on social media.

Oh, that must be nice. Unfortunately I don't have any social media, unless you call Numista one.

( ……….My plan is to ignore any future ones……..)😂😂

And when will this happen? I see that many have found a place here for a message. But in essence, nothing has been said lol

Please stop being so childish and stop destroying your coins. Thanks.

They're just mad that you're cleaning coins.

Do what you want to do, you're not volating the policy and they can choose not to reply.

Obviously they can't help themselves.

Not your coins to tell them what to do with them.

I think you just made up that answer to “prove” that your posts have an altruistic purpose.  You would only do that if you felt you needed to justify the reason for your posts, so I'm glad that you are starting to believe the opinions of others are correct.

Before you say it, I said, “future ones” not the current one.

Hello dear colleagues.

Immediately after our velvet revolution, thirty years ago, door-to-door sales of cosmetics and household cleaning chemicals began - a sales boom

My work colleague also sold in the evenings.  And is he asking me?  Don't you want a miracle coin paste?

I say, bring it to me, and he did - I paid a huge amount of money for a small tube in the shape of toothpaste at the time (even a silver tolar could be bought for that price)

In my fingers, I gently applied half a centimeter of white paste like from a tube on a 1 CZK coin.  Splendor.

Such a beauty, even prettier than when they came out of the machine, all ,,mint luster,,

Half a year later, I opened the album where these coins were stored and found a black burial ground.

All coins corroded to black color -disgust and more brown spots and the whole thing was shiny.

Better than being old and stupid. Hopefully we all learn as we age as we are guided by those with wisdom from life.
