Could we please have the year lines for both variants? I have the feeling, that the small version is the more common. I now have both versions in my collection.

Sent a request to the referee, it is up to him.

I think we need better pictures of the area where the mintmark is supposed to be. Otherwise we'll need to assume it was worn off or even removed on purpose.

In my opinion the mintmark can not be removed on purpose, in this case, once that would have made the underlaying steel core visible.

Filled die. There are probably a few dozen more like it. A die without a mint make would have made 10's of thousands or more and be very common. Here's one of mine with almost no mint mark.
