Hi All! Two options are given for Mints that produced this wicked (NZ English for cool) coin. How please, does one tell which it is? I cannot find a Mintmark - my coin is quite worn - and no indication is given on the page, that I could see.

 Cheers, AY

There is no way of knowing.

Where did you find the two mint options?

It is in the link, below Edge section

Mints
Münze Österreich, Vienna, Austria (1194-date)
Staatliche Münze Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart, Germany (1374-date)

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

There are no options (year lines) it was just made by three different mints but this doesn't have to mean that they used different dies especially for short lived or one time issues.

Strange enough, I don't really believe in the dates given in numista! Try to see this information from the mint of Bulgaria:

After searching a bit, I found this for the 1930 ten leva coin in Ucoins https://en.ucoin.net/coin/bulgaria-10-leva-1930/?tid=31334

So it's clear it was minted in Stuttgart, but it's of little real interest, since it was not minted anywhere else, so no need to look for mint marks or similar!

Now who really wants to modify Numista, which ought to be done, of course?

The mints have to be modified for all the coins from Bulgaria, specially the dates, where the foreign mints were active for Bulgaria…. it's not for me to do that.

The Catalogue of Bulgarian Coins 1879-2004, 2nd Edition (2004) published by the National Bank of Bulgaria lists only Stuttgart for this coin.

I too doubt that any were struck at Vienna.

I was the one that added the Vienna Mint back I'm 2022. The only sources I provided were Royal British Mint reports from 1930 and 1931. I do not have access to my computer today, so I cannot see what they contain.

Thanks All! Ucoins has proved helpful in the past when I have just HAD to know something. In this case, the Numista team comes through again. Wicked!

 Thanks, AY

If I remember correctly there were patterns from the same issue with larger letters on obverse and reverse side . I don't know if they were made in Stuttgart.
