Can we have the option to allocate images to obverse and reverse when adding examples of a type. At the moment it just adds lots of images in one box so you cant order them correctly.

You can upload more then 2 images so obverse reverse would reduce it or bloat the interface. I would like something like drag 'n drop ordering would also benefit the auction pictures.

Perfectly happy with the multiple pictures…
But I want the ability to re-order past sales as well as examples.
Yes, drag and drop to keep needed order would be helpfull. I needed to remove pictures uploaded at once and add it one by one to have the correct order for each example, like here: N#9617
It would be also nice to have list of examples sorted by yearline (= the same order as yearlines showed on coin page). At the moment, examples are displayed chronologically (oldest added example at top).
Drag and drop or reordering is what i was trying to do and then it resized to the thumbnail and deleted the original before checking the reordered one. Not going to do that mistake again.
I just suggested something similar, So I want to revive this treath.
Can it be authomated in some way? Most auctions I see only have 2 pictures: One reverse and one obverse, in either order.
My suggestion

Automation would be very hard for many. Most I see (maybe not most of all) have 1 picture for both sides like these:

Others have so many pictures, some single side, some both sides, that without some major advancements in AI (or human intervention) that trying to change them would be impossible. Example: N#90655 Some single picture, some double picture, some both sides in one.
It would be nice, just not sure it can be done with automation without messing up the results completely.

What I find much worse than exchanged obverse - reverse pictures are past auction sales without pictures at all (like in your link above), while the picture are all there on the website:
I don't understand who and why these past auction sales are accepted.

I agree but rather than not including those auctions, Numista needs to find a better way to extract the pictures that are there.
The first listing has “no” pictures:

But these pictures are readily available to use:
