Good day,

is there anyone who can explain to me which are the thaler pieces circulating till 1907? in a German webpage I found an interesting article mentioning a law which allowed circulation of German (and also Austrian) till beginning of the XXth century so I'd like to know which of those were still in circulation along with the one from Prussia in the title (the victory thaler).

Unfortunately the most famous German catalogue Jaeger begins from 1871 hence those coins are not included and it is not easy to understand what circulated and what not.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me with this,

As far as i know, the german Vereinstaler with specified silver content “XXX ein Pfund fein” was legal currency with a value of 3 Reichsmark. Production of 3 Mark coins started after the Vereinstaler was demonetized (1908).All other values were replaced soon after the foundation of german empire.

Thank you Stefan, so should I consider as circulating thalers only the ones with that specific writing?

I think so, these are types of talers between 1857 and 1871.
