In 1965 Isle of Man issued 3 first gold coins: 1/2 Sovereign, 1 Sovereign and 5 Pounds (the face value is not indicated on the coins so it's sometimes called Pounds, sometimes sovereigns).
These coins were minted from 22 ct gold with below mintage:
½ Sov - 3000
1 Sov - 3500
5 Pounds - 2000
whereof 1500 of each were used for Specimen Sets (Specimen set but coins were exactly the same as remaining ones issued individually).
In addition, the 1000 pieces of each coin was also minted as Proof coins (only in set = 1000 Proof sets). because the proof coins were minted from gold .980 (23.5ct), I created separate pages for all three.
And now, Admins, could you please:
- merge both lines on N#122147 - I don't see the needs to keep two lines if the coins in set and out of set are similar (mintage should be 3000 in total and description Uncirculated)
- move users from Proof line of N#15305 to newly created page for proof version N#413888
