Hello,
We currently have for Notgeld a currency:
Franc (1914-1925)
But these 3 note are out of range:
N#314161 (1926)
N#322149 (1935)
N#313556 (1940)
Should we change the span to Franc (1914-1940) ?

Why do we have a separate currency for so-called “notgeld”? These are French francs (1795-1959). It amazes me that a French-based catalogue would use a German name for local French coins and notes.
The section on the banknotes of France is a bit of a mess in places and needs a thorough revision.
There appears to be no referee for France - perhaps one of the master referees could take it on as a project.
I would have thought that French banknotes would be one of the first sections on numista to be rigorously corrected for basic structural errors. And yes, it is a big job, but not a particularly difficult one in technical terms.
I have just a few French notes from the ‘notgeld’ era, and the first one I checked in numista revealed several errors in one small section of four notes, including a wrong picture, an incorrect catalogue number, and a duplicate entry.
The wrong picture has now been removed, and I am working to encourage the triggering of the removal of the duplicate entry. I will then upload a 400dpi image of my note, which is actually a very attractive design.
I tend to disagree with the above statement.
Yes there is still work to do, but a lot was done by the previous referee and improvement was done afterwards.
So yes it will be nice that someone with documentation can double check the current 666 entries, but it's not all wrong ;-)

I am being a little too critical.
And I wasn't suggesting that it is all wrong.
However, several errors, including a wrong picture and a duplicate entry in a section with 4 notes suggests that the section was overlooked when improvements were being made.

Now that the incorrect picture has been removed, we can move on to the duplicate entry.
My interest in this section stems from my having bought an example of one of the notes recently, and on looking it up in numista, I felt a need to fix the errors! And now I am the dog which won't let go of the stick until the job is done. In doing so, I have learned quite a lot about the actual note issue, which is a very attractive design.
I've got it, you are speaking about these 2 pages:
1 Franc - Chambres de Commerce de la Marne (51) - Department of Marne – Numista
1 Franc - Chambres de Commerce de la Marne - Department of Marne – Numista
I ask the creation of the correct yearline on this one, and then the other one can be deleted.
Yes. I was going to leave N#238346 until I had the page duplication fixed, which followed on from the removal of the duplicate reverse image on this one https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note312176.html

Because having just one currency would yield errors across different issuers.
But “Notgeld” isn't an issuer, it's a type of issue. The issuers are the individual towns, cities and regions, but they don't get their own currencies, so that can't be a fundamental problem. If this is required for technical reasons, at least set the dates correctly.
