Inaccurate information for British 10 pence

6 αναρτήσεις • προβλήθηκε 179 φορές

This here: N#11028 says “From 1982 to 1992, no ten pence coins were struck for circulation since the pre-decimal florins, with a value of 10p, were still circulating as part of the decimalisation process.”

This is implying that NO COINS AT ALL were released for circulation for that time period.

Can this be removed? It is not accurate. The exact details of the coin may not be the same, but there WERE coins released for circulation, particularly in 1992,  N#879    OVER 1 BILLION in fact for 1992 (flat edge, thicker coin) alone. (I happen to  have 1 of  both of that variety. Flat edge and wire edge)

Change 1992 to 1991 and all is good.

Go for it.

Edit: Actually, change it to what's on this one:    N#17902

No 10p coins were issued for circulation from 1982 until 1992 when the 10p coin was reduced in size, this was due to the fact that pre-decimal florins were still circulating as part of the decimalisation process having a value of 10p.

Thanks for catching that little hiccup. You're absolutely right – coins were indeed released for circulation from 1982 to 1992.

I see that it still hasn't been fixed though. I submitted a change a while back.

It’s said 1982 to 1991 for  awhile now.

Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
