Dimensions: Coin is fairly large.

Weight: ~ 1 oz (30 g)*

Diameter: ~ 40mm*

Composition: Appears to be copper or bronze.

How'd you recognize this one?

Getting  familiar with Ottoman coins and Arabic dates etc. I had many of these types (Ottoman) at one time although not this specific one.. This one was so large and heavy it was fairly easy to identify.

Update:

Was able to weigh and measure the coin accurately.

Diameter: 41.3 mm

Weight: 29.44g

Seems a bit heavy for the 60 para. I know these coins come in a range, but wonder are there any other good candidates?

I think Harry nailed it.  SCWC says weight varies 26.3-28.6 g.  Your weight is only slightly higher.
