Dear Frenchlover,
thank for your help, you always use your expierence with me, but this time I don't understand the other post… I think it's the follow coin, am I right?
regards
Andrea
It doesn't look the same wording, especially the "oo" of your coin is not present.
Mine is not the same in fact.
You might send a request to frank@fsrcoin.com 😜
The lettering seems to me like هذا … بلد ڤلمبڠ hadza (something) bilad Palembang. The ‘oo’ part being a rather crude هـ. But, the only Palembang coin with the word هذا has a year and does not look like this. Maybe it is a bad imitation of that? It does look rather like the "Haza al-masruf fi bilad Palembang" Frenchlover seen in Zeno, which is otherwise uncatalogued in Robinson and Mitchiner & Yih.
Otherwise, I think I agree that the already mentioned Zarb fi Bilad Palembang is probably the closest available match in Numista. Checking on Mitchiner and Yih https://www.orientalnumismaticsociety.org/archive/ONS_215.pdf, there is one specimen in which the ضرب part is contracted into “oo” shape (page 34). Same as Robinson, Mitchiner & Yih also said that “It is a moot point how many degrees of corruption one should try to catalogue” and presumably omitted some. So not finding close match among catalogued pictures seems to be expected for this series😅
Dear di.abay, thank you again for your research, I have appreciated the time you spent to learn me.
Best regards
Andrea
