Not a coin, but a souvenir medal: N#46347

Unfortunately not much more information there other than what you can see or guess from the piece itself.

Any value in it? or just something cool to look at.

Souvenirs rarely carry much value, exonumia usually needs to be either precious metal (i.e. bullion) or have real historical value (like POW camp money or hard times tokens, for example) to command more than a few bucks .  The page doesn't give dimensions (if you can provide diameter in mm that would be a nice update to the page - weight in grams is also nice!) but it looks reasonably large - not a bad looking medal.  Something passed down?

The figure on the obverse is clearly Saint Pope John Paul II (Karol Woytyla).

The obverse wording would translate roughly as “Sainthood Soon.”  Almost immediately after John Paul's death in April 2005, there was a widespread movement advocating for his sainthood.

So, we can date this medal between John Paul's death in 2005 and his canonization in 2014.  The formal process declare him a saint began  in 2009, so my guess would be on the earlier side (2005-2007).

I doubt it was struck in Poland.  More likely Italy, since the obverse wording is in Italian (the reverse includes the Polish word for the Vatican).

Modifications have been submitted.
