Should this Zaire note have a watermark

I have an UNC Zaire banknote identical to the one in the catalogue N#205050

Because I have not been to Zaire/Congo (yet), I probably got it sometime ago at a market somewhere.

A quarter of the note has a semingly blank space where you'd normally find a watermark, and, although my note does not appear to have one watermark visible at plain sight, I am not sure the texture on that area in completely blank either.

Here are pictures with white and yellow backlights.  When I move the bill around in front of them, I seem to visualize some kind of flowers or geometrical figures; or, is it just my wishful thinking?

Just checked my banknote, no watermark. Also, SCWPM doesn't has info about watermark. No flowers or geometrical figures 😂

It seems unusual to have such a blank space on both sides, maybe they intended to have a watermark at some point?

Or, do we have counterfeits?

The same space appears all the notes, although some of the same year, in the Numista catalogue, do mention the existence of watermark, like the 10 Nouveaux Makuta or the 50.

Yes, larger nominals have watermarks, I doubt its counterfeit, probably they wanted to keep the design the same for all banknotes from this period. That why it has blank space. Also, there is Solid Security Thread on the banknote.
