Ile de Clipperton

Got anyone an idea whether this:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces29468.html

is really a token or an interesting coin (CFP-Franc like French Polynesia ?) ????
There are a 200 and 500 franc version, too.

And no euro drivel, please....

 :8D  :.
It is a token, I don't think the isle of Clipperton will genuinely use a non selected trial strike as currency
Hmmm,

the identifications or the definitions were choosen or given by another user....
That must not be necessarily correct....

And you are sure there is all absolutely stable like "Non selected trial strike" ?
which means you also mean it´s an essai/probe/pattern/trial ????

And a trial for what, to establish the Polynesian franc on clipperton ? :O

 :(
If I understand what MWeber is saying, I think I agree with him. There is no way this is a "non-selected trial strike." Of what government? Clipperton is an uninhabited island.  Just another fantasy coin issued by some private mint.  Pretty soon they will run out of uninhabited islands to issue coins in the name of.

I see what you mean now! Sorry! I guess that is why it is in the Tokens section.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Numista should have a "Fantasy" section for all the pretend coinage that is spewed out by the private mints. These items do not belong with tokens and detract from the genuine token issues from the 18th and 19th centuries that were legitimate forms of trading and substitutes for actual currency.
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

Hmmm, what I mean is.... B.

There are French Antarctic Territory, British Antarctic Territory, South Georgia and Sandwich Islands, Ascension, Niue, etc. etc. with also no population or a few dozens and the minted coins are normal coins with value and are legal tender, which means you get british pounds or NZL-Dollar for the coins and it´s no fantasy token....

These mentioned three "ile de Clipperton" coins seem to be similar......!!!!

So could the franc value on the "token" be common-or-garden polynesian franc and could in that case anyone push the coin from the token section into the normal coin section.....?!?! :8D
