hi all been looking all over for this one (on look alone ) don't even know if is a coin appears to be made of tin so thought it would have been easer to find but knowing nothing about where its from is a problem, held would be appreciated
For identification requests, try to include diameter and weight. It helps narrow things down quicker. Even without that, I can say that you should look at coins of the Ottoman Empire. It sort of looks like a Kuruş of some kind.
If the weight is about 1 g., the OP may be right that it is made of tin (which should be about 25% les dense than the billon used for this coin), and hence a counterfeit. Given the condition it is hard to say from looking at the details.
I also think I've been told that a large "chop"across the coin like this was done when a coin was taken out of circulation (usually to be re-melted, but maybe for other reasons in this case).
