ID help for tiny silver coins -- possibly Pyu

5 αναρτήσεις • προβλήθηκε 105 φορές
I have these two tiny, similar silver coins. They are uniface, and similar in pattern to the Pyu coin listed in Numista here:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces143987.html

Diameter: 7.5-8.5mm
Weight: <0.1g

They aren't a perfect match with the Numista coin, either in design or size, but it's the only similar coin I've found across numista, google, zeno, etc.

Anyone have a better idea than just "probably Pyu"?

Thanks,

Chris
Something I came across for anyone interested: nice photos of old lead coins from Pyu from a dutch museum.

This site has something close that are tagged as "Pyus of Sriksetra" (aka Sri Ksetra or Srikshetra)

I think this one on ebay is pretty close -- not quite uniface, but almost and those little dots could be worn off mine.

I'll leave this open for a couple days in case anyone wants to opine, but otherwise I'm happy to go with this ID:

Kingdom of Thaton (Mi-chen)

Looks like Numista has it after all:
